Early Life and Education
Gunby became renowned in 19th-century Louisiana for his writings on education and his role in founding Ruston College. Sharp and Gunby would often leave school together in Gunby’s car to smoke marijuana and have sexual encounters, including in the months preceding her death, when Sharp had an encounter with Adriano; Gunby became jealous and started calling Sharp out as being “whoreish and promiscuous”, according to her testimony.
