Ben Lotsoff was an exceptional student, musician and cross country runner. An Illinois State Scholar who excelled at classical trombon playing. Ben had an uplifting personality which will be missed by all who knew him; thus his family has established a scholarship in his name to honor his memory.

Early Life and Education

Ben Lotsoff grew up in a suburb of Chicago and graduated high school in 2018. There, he excelled on classical trombone, ran cross country and received recognition as an Illinois State Scholar. Additionally, he was recognized as a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist and received a commendable score; he had an interest in chemical synthesis as a topic and enjoyed learning how scientists of past worked through complex problems without modern technology or apparatus; this young man was intelligent, funny and kind – an all-round good guy who loved chemical synthesis!

Professional Career

Ben was an incredible and ambitious chemistry student with great promise, who was also extraordinarily intelligent, kind-hearted and funny. Ben especially relished organic synthesis as an area to study as it provided him an opportunity to witness first-hand how scientists with no modern technologies dealt with complex scientific issues.

Lotsoff graduated from Loughborough University and has since worked professionally as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for both Great Britain women’s wheelchair basketball team and men’s wheelchair cricket team as well as acting as Strength and Conditioning Manager for tennis player Elena Baltacha.

Now he is an experienced mortgage loan originator specializing in structuring various financing solutions for his clients – such as jumbo loans for high-end properties. He has become one of his clients’ go-to advisers and prides himself on exceptional service delivery.

Benjamin Lotsoff was an outstanding young man with an extraordinary personality and dedication to learning. His academic accomplishments, musical talent, and unwavering devotion to chemistry earned him respect from everyone around him – family members, friends, colleagues at Brown University as well as students who shared his passion. His presence was felt deeply among those he came into contact with and his passing has left a huge void in their hearts and academic community at Brown University. Family, friends and his fellow scholars all mourn his passing. Benjamin Lotsoff lived off-campus while studying chemistry. He was extremely curious and was fascinated with exploring how scientists solved scientific challenges without modern technology and equipment in the past. Additionally to chemistry he also played classical trombone and cross country ran competitively while remaining kind and thoughtful individual who always saw life’s bright side!
