There are a number of tweets that give away information about other companies. Some tweets are merely pithy quotes from Twitter executives. Some have even been published on the Internet. Parag Agrawal wrote that Twitter had 10 years of unpaid security charges. Dick Costolo said that Twitter is terrible at handling abuse.

Twitter declined to reveal the exact number of accounts that were affected, but a report by Bleeping Computer says the hacker had access to over 5.4 million Twitter accounts and posted the details for sale on the dark web. Twitter has not confirmed or denied the claims, but it has stated that it has closed down a rogue account which used the API to upload large lists of phone numbers.
