Olympic Swimmer Chloe Osborne
Chloe is an active swimmer and coach, as well as making her Olympic swim debut. She trains with a high performance coach in Ryde, and fell in love with swimming at Hawkesbury Oasis. Most recently, she completed a Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course and has been teaching school-aged children how to swim. Despite her successes in the pool, Chloe has no intention of retiring.
As a child, Chloe Osborne was passionate about sports and particularly soccer. At the age of 12, she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. Ewing Sarcoma affects soft tissue around bones. The cancer spread to the spine, causing spinal injury and nerve damage. Chloe started swimming to relieve her pain and discomfort. Her physiotherapist recommended that she take up swimming to help her retrain her muscles and improve her strength and stamina.
