Dan Bilzerian Sues Lone Survivor
Dan Bilzerian Sues Lone Survivor Producers
Dan Bilzerian, a poker pro, social media star and actor, filed a lawsuit against producers of the film Lone Survivor. The lawsuit is based on a dispute over how much Bilzerian appeared in the movie. He was promised to have eight minutes of screen time, but in the final version, his role was reduced to less than a minute. This is a big blow for the actor, who claims that he received only one line of dialogue. His attorney, Michael J. Plonsker, estimates that the damages should be around $1.2 million.
According to his lawsuit, the producers of the film – producer Randmett and director Furla – did not meet their end of the bargain. They did not put in writing that the actor would have eight minutes and 80 words of dialogue, as well as a role that would be “significant.” Bilzerian believes that he was entitled to more than the $88,000 he originally paid for the role, plus interest. Despite this, he has not received a refund or compensation for any losses incurred.
According to Bilzerian, the film producers had no intention of sticking to their deal. After learning about the shortened role, Bilzerian notified them of the breach. In the next month, he will appear in court on two felony charges. If he is found guilty of either charge, he will also face additional damages.
As for the film itself, it will be released in December in the US. It stars Mark Wahlberg, Taylor Kitsch and Emil Hirsch. It is based on a real-life Navy SEAL mission. When the team was searching for a powerful Taliban leader, four SEALs were killed. Four were also injured. However, the remaining team members were not hurt, as the film focuses on one of the members, Healy.
Bilzerian’s lawyer, Michael J. Plonsker, says that the producer’s actions were not in the best interests of the actor. Instead of giving him the eight minutes and 80 words of dialogue that he was promised, he was given only a single line. Although he hoped to receive more than the $88,000 he had invested, he was disappointed that the movie did not live up to his expectations.
Bilzerian has become an Internet sensation, securing more than 30 million followers on Instagram and earning millions from playing poker. He has been compared to professional poker player Phil Ivey. Aside from his acting career, Bilzerian has also been known for his stunt work. For example, he has performed as a stuntman for the film Olympus Has Fallen.
On October 10, 2012, Bilzerian and the film’s producers, Emmett and Furla, signed an agreement in which they agreed to include him in the film. The terms of the contract included a “significant” role, a $1 million loan, and the promise that the actor would have eight minutes of screentime. However, the actor claimed that his part was cut down to sixty seconds.
Bilzerian was also accused of possessing a bomb-making component. At the time of the incident, he was wearing military boots. He was later arrested at the Los Angeles International Airport on a Las Vegas warrant.
