Daniel Hinds has been working as a relief driver at Fastway Couriers, within the Transportation industry, for two years and three months as a professional.
Last year’s craft legislation gave him an idea for a project, but to realize his dream he needed funds, supplies, and encouragement – that’s where Durango Arts Center’s inaugural MicroGrants program came in handy.

Through both his own personal experience as a student at Hinds as well as that of his three children who also attended Hinds, Piazza has witnessed first-hand what an impactful college Hinds is to individuals’ lives. Achievement and Honors
Hinds County Eagles on defense. After graduating cum laude from Hinds, she attended Mississippi College before going on to Spring Hill College in Mobile, Ala. where she earned a bachelor’s degree.
Despite her health challenges, she persevered to earn a credential from the Meat Merchandising program and be one of 1,358 graduates who will receive either magna cum laude or summa cum laude degrees this month.
Hinds Community College marked its centennial from Oct. 2-5 with alumni activities on three of those days and President Clyde Muse’s address to alumni was highlighted by reflections about his own experience as a community college student and on his four decades at Hinds. Numerous departmental awards were distributed among students while Gamma Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Raymond Campus was named finalist for Most Distinguished Chapter at international convention held April 15-19th in San Antonio, Texas.
Personal Life
Dan Hinds is an accomplished writer, having won the Timothy Corsellis Young Literary Artist Prize 2022 as well as being shortlisted for Cinnamon Press Poetry Pamphlet Award 2021 and Streetcake Experimental Writing Prize 2019. Additionally, he was recognized in both National Centre for Writing’s UEA New Forms Competition 2020 as well as The Broken Spine’s Flash Fiction Contest as an exceptional author.
Hinds is married to actress Toni Neptune and has two children together. An avid reader and guitarist himself, Hinds has long supported autism awareness as an advocate through various charity events raising funds for research and treatment of autism spectrum disorder. Furthermore, Hinds has donated funds toward building the University of Mississippi Medical School library with which he has pledged his long-time support.
