Dan Satterfield is the weatherman for Huntsville CBS-affiliate WHNT. He can often be found providing forecast updates during weeknight evening newscasts.

Early Life and Education
Satterfield was born in Shaw, Mississippi. While at Crane Junior College in Chicago he studied jazz and participated in The Jazzmen student ensemble alongside trumpet player Charles Handy and saxophonist Don Myrick. Following an initial incarnation of The Pharaohs he joined Maurice White’s Earth Wind & Fire band as bass guitarist before co-founding The Phenix Horns alongside Myrick, lead trumpeter Michael Harris, and occasionally baritone saxophone as a means to brighten its sound on recordings or live performances – occasionally adding baritone saxophone to make certain songs standout from others in its sound palette. He currently works on the weather team at WBOC and previously held meteorologist positions in Orlando, Oklahoma and Huntsville Alabama.
Achievement and Honors
Satterfield has received some of the highest honors awarded by the Department of State, such as the Secretary’s Distinguished Service Award and OPM’s Distinguished Federal Executive Rank Award. Additionally, he was inducted as a Fellow into Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy as well as serving as adjunct professor for Middle East studies at The American University in Cairo.
He is the author of several books and an active commentator on national news programs on radio and television, frequently giving guest lectures at universities and business conferences both domestically and abroad. Public records reveal that he has lived at 265 Strecker Drive in Tallmadge for around six years with his family.
Personal Life
Satterfield has successfully kept his personal life out of the spotlight. He and his spouse of 28 years have two children together and reside in Salisbury on Delmarva Peninsula.
He holds both an undergraduate degree in meteorology from University of Oklahoma and a Master’s in Earth Science. Additionally, he is an active member of American Meteorological Society’s Committee on Station Science as well as holding their Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval.
Daniel owns Tumblecheer Heroes on Ball Street in Perry and coaches cheerleading at Veterans High School. On October 24th, parents Cortese Walker and Antwishia Thomas accused Daniel of using racist slurs during a practice session at Tumblecheer Heroes.
