Daniel Dain is an Attorney representing clients with Real Estate: Business issues in Massachusetts. Distinguished among his peers and recently chosen as a Super Lawyers recipient from 2005 – 2023.

He and Katherine are very involved in their community, including Leadership Corpus Christi, The Women’s Shelter of Corpus Christi and other local charities.

Early Life and Education

Daniel was born in Miles City, Montana and attended Assumption Abbey High School in Richardton, North Dakota for his secondary education. From there he went to the University of Minnesota before attending law school at Michigan where he passed the bar exam to begin his legal career specializing in Real Estate Business Law – becoming one of Boston’s premier attorneys.

He is a loving father to his three children – Frank Woods (Lois) of California, Daniel Dain Jr (Katherine) from Texas and Debbie Lhotka (Gil) from Louisiana – as well as to two granddaughters Chasity and McKinlee with another expected soon.

He and Katherine have shown tremendous commitment to their community by giving of both time and money, including Leadership Corpus Christi, Domino’s Partners Foundation, YWCA of Corpus Christi Beach Clean-up activities and many more volunteer initiatives.

Professional Career

Dan is an author who has had his short story published in The New Yorker. He enjoys sipping good coffee and collecting designer wallets; but avoids wearing formal wear like tuxedos as much as possible and prefers jeans and T-shirts instead.

In Belles de Jour, he learns of Blair and Louis’ engagement, attempts to prevent its publication but ultimately fails. After consulting an old mentor who advises against this move, he decides that just let it come out.

Later, he assists Chuck in finding ways to feel again, while simultaneously catching Georgina blackmailing him for a paternity test. After some hesitation on her part, she eventually gives up and provides him with results: It turns out he is indeed fathering Georgina’s child (The Jewel of Denial), something which Rufus and Lily didn’t find out until their wedding day!

Achievement and Honors

Dan has long been recognized for his dedication and steadfast commitment to Albany County residents. American City & County magazine named him County Leader of the Year while Association of United States Army 1st Region gave him its Mary G. Roebling Distinguished Service Award for his efforts.

At County Executive level, he was also the inaugural County Executive to become a Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellow, joining Governors, Attorney Generals and Congressmen to learn about addressing inequities in education and life outcomes. Furthermore, he received the inaugural NPTC Daniel P. Smith Lifetime Achievement Award for Private Fleet Professionals.

He and Katherine were active participants in Corpus Christi community organizations such as Leadership Corpus Christi, Women’s Shelter of South Texas and Domino’s Partners Foundation. Both enjoyed sport – especially sporting clays and wing shooting.

Personal Life

Once they arrived in Corpus Christi, Daniel and Katherine immersed themselves into their new community with gusto. Both served on various boards and actively participated in volunteer efforts with organizations like the Junior League of Corpus Christi, Women’s Shelter of Corpus Christi and Domino’s Partners Foundation projects – as well as enjoying sporting clays and wing shooting.

Dane is not only an attorney; he is also an accomplished actor. Most recently he earned critical acclaim for his performance as Michael B. Jordan opposite Dane in Chronicle. Additionally he has featured in Derek Cianfrance’s The Place Beyond the Pines and John Hillcoat’s Lawless films.

He is a founding partner of Boston law firm Dain Torpy and recognized as a Super Lawyer by his peers. Additionally, he often lectures on real estate-related topics.

Net Worth

He is a millionaire who has amassed vast riches through poker. Additionally, he made huge amounts from filming the Lone Survivor movie and amassed an extensive car collection – which included one Lamborghini costing more than $1 Million – among them his personal Lamborghini which cost over a $1 Million!

His firm serves as an intermediary between chefs and potential investors who wish to reap the benefits of backing a restaurant, such as dining credits, comped dishes, VIP tables and party invitations. They have already raised at least $1.6 million – enough for two restaurants – while an increase in funding up to $3 million could fund four restaurants.

His community involvement includes many charitable activities with Katherine, such as Leadership Corpus Christi, Women’s Shelter of Corpus Christi, Domino’s Partners Foundation beach cleanup event and fundraising campaign for Heading Home.
