Early Life and Education
Daniel Fitch graduated from Carroll High School in 1997. At Purdue, he became a walk-on for their wrestling team before going on to earn a Bachelor’s of Physical Education degree.
He then joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship as a Middleweight fighter, where he earned an outstanding 7-0 record in his initial seven fights and went on to claim two consecutive titles including World Middleweight Championship.
Daniel relocated with his wife and 2-year-old daughter after his success at MMA to protect them from COVID-19, fearful he could bring it back home with him to Chesterton. However, despite these worries he found an RV large enough for their needs while remaining positive throughout this ordeal.
Professional Career
His professional experience includes providing advice and representing clients in numerous matters, including class actions; resolving coverage disputes relating to National Flood Insurance Program claims through negotiation, motion practice or trial as necessary for insurance, fidelity and surety companies; as well as the defense of product liability claims through trial. He has successfully tried many cases to verdict.
He is part of the Global Cross Sector team in Structured Finance’s Structured Finance group and specializes in rating non-traditional structured finance products, such as those secured by real estate assets (e.g. wireless towers and billboards). Additionally, he oversees commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) servicer ratings as well as creating ratings criteria for these securities.
Dan has held positions on both boards: that of Scarsdale School District trustee and Vestry Member/Finance Committee Chairman for St James the Less Church in Scarsdale.
