Dan was an extraordinary, gentle soul who was greatly beloved by both his immediate and extended families. He will be greatly missed by Victoria, Alannah and Lauren (his daughters), Daniel V (son), as well as by all his siblings.

He provides business and growth consulting to entrepreneurial companies, as well as help accessing traditional commercial financing sources as well as government-subsidized loan programs.

Early Life and Education

Prendergast was born to a wealthy family but suffered an early tragedy with the death of his twin sister at just six. Following this eventful experience he took up drawing and attended free evening classes.

After his studies, he traveled to Europe and gained many new ideas and techniques related to painting. He became one of the key figures who introduced these concepts to American audiences.

Dan was an eccentric character cherished by all his extended family, especially his loving wife Victoria and daughter Alannah; son Daniel; grandchildren Kelly Stanton, Carol LaPaglia and Craig Michael LaPaglia as well as great-grandchildren Madelynn, Charlotte and Alison – we will miss him dearly “Chief”. Rest in peace Chief! We all love you.

Dan has over 24 years of experience in hospitality operations. He was responsible for opening five hotels, overseeing pre/post opening operations, sales, marketing, budgetary functions and pre/post opening budget. Furthermore, his expertise lies in collecting market competition statistics to develop sales, marketing, pricing and promotion strategies.

He currently writes Accident & Health (A&H) risks for Dale Underwriting Partners, the trading name of Dale Managing Agency Limited’s Lloyd’s Syndicate 1729. Additionally, he writes Professional & Financial Risks reporting directly to Martin Lawson as Head of Specialty Insurance.

He is a member of Growth Capital Corporation, providing him with insight into various conventional commercial financing sources and government-subsidized loan programs available to businesses. Additionally, he considers and treats his coworkers like family.

Achievement and Honors

His delicate landscapes and scenes of modern life characterized by mosaic-like colors are widely associated with Post-Impressionism. His works have been purchased by such institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Boston Fine Arts Museum and Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Prendergast’s work is supported by the Clooney Foundation for Justice, established by him and Amal Clooney together. It features TrialWatch and The Docket initiatives dedicated to legal affairs. He holds great hopes that President Biden’s administration will prioritize anti-corruption efforts.

Dan was an iconic and much-beloved figure, loved by his devoted family; brothers-in-law Adrian and Ciaran, niece Ali, nephews Paddy, Conor, and CJ; as well as close friends near and far. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Personal Life

Dan was a loving husband and father who took great pride in following sports teams such as Penn’s football team (he served as captain), Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Art Gallery of Ontario. He was beloved by both extended family and many close friends alike.

Dan Prendergast co-founded and served as CEO of Park Hill Group, later acquired by Blackstone and PJT Partners. Prior to Park Hill Group he held senior origination positions at Atlantic-Pacific Capital and Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette.

Dan Prendergast passed away from cancer at his home in San Francisco on February 23, 2019, surrounded by family and many dear friends. We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to everyone who provided support during his illness.
