Daniel Wayne Sermon

The Book of Daniel offers more than warnings of impending doom or moralistic ideallism; it encourages boldness.

Daniel and his friends experienced cultural and theological dominance while living in Babylon. Their king offered them plenty of food while forcing them to learn his language, write with his handwriting, and even changed their names!

Early Life and Education

Daniel stood apart from other prophets by being well educated. Starting his studies at the University of Babylon with full scholarship support, Daniel mastered Cuneiform scripting, literature and regional history during this time.

Daniel was blessed by God throughout his life with wealth and wisdom, serving four different kings (Nebuchadnezzar, Belshazzar, Darius and Cyrus). As an act of gratitude to their faithfulness to him and their land, God granted Daniel and his friends preeminence among the men of Babylon as well as power over it.

He travelled far and wide, drawing people from eight counties – particularly Llangeitho in Carmarthenshire, Wales. They came to hear him preach the sweet doctrines that fostered faith in Jesus as Mediator for our sins and preached that salvation through faith alone was available for all those who believed.
