Dave Abair was one of California’s premier street skaters, renowned for his speedy style and dedication on the board.

Early Life and Education

Abair was raised in a musical family in St. Petersburg, Florida and began playing piano at age five. By eight, she picked up the saxophone as well. Her dad Lance performed with his band The Entertainers and often took Abair along for the ride.

After her high school graduation, she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and honed her skills in styles ranging from jazz to R&B and pop. Additionally, she became a session musician, working with artists such as the Backstreet Boys and Mandy Moore.

She has since established a fine jewelry line and served as president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Additionally, she joined Pretty Good for a Girl, an initiative designed to celebrate women’s power and promote female empowerment.

Dave Abair began his professional basketball career when the Portland Trail Blazers selected him to the National Basketball Association (NBA) in 1990. For five years, he played power forward-center for Portland as well as other clubs like Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, and Sacramento Kings.

He played for Papagou BC (Greece) from 1995-1996), the Omaha Racers (CBA) from 1996-1997 and Olympique Antibes (France) 1997-98. Additionally he served as college basketball in-studio analyst for CBS Sports Network and provided color commentary on Westwood One Radio.

He currently freelances as a sports writer for EndGame360 and other websites. Additionally, he has covered the Philadelphia 76ers and Texas Rangers for FanSided.

Dave’s broadcasting career took an exciting turn in 2009 when he was hired by Comcast Hometown Network as their play-by-play announcer for high school football and basketball packages. Subsequently, he became radio broadcaster for Cal Bears women’s basketball team.
