David was the first member of his family to attend college, attending Yale where he joined the men’s swimming team that won the NAA Union Championship in 1948-49. Additionally, as captain of a 4×100 freestyle relay team that set a world record, David made history!

When not at work, he enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with his family – Kristin, Kristen, Matthew and Emma. Professional Career
David Baribault has been with The Walt Disney Studios since 1997, most recently serving as Vice President of Animation Marketing Operations and Strategy. During that time he co-led theatrical film campaigns for Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and The Muppets while overseeing all aspects of Disneynature.
He is an enthusiastic conservationist, having served as Vice Chair of The Jane Goodall Institute, member of the Executive Committee for Jackson Wild (a conservation summit and wildlife film festival), and Executive Chair for The Aspen Institute High Seas Initiative. Through these partnerships he has planted millions of trees and protected millions of acres of wildlife habitat around the world.
He has been selected as the new president and CEO of San Diego Zoo Global, succeeding Douglas Myers who retired earlier this year after 34 years at the organization’s helm. Mr. Cannon will assume his new position on October 1.

David Baribault is an accomplished businessman with a distinguished career. He served as President and CEO of IPR Energy Partners, LLC – a Dallas-based oil and natural gas production operator – and co-founded North Plains Energy LLC and NP Resources LLC, both companies engaged in horizontal Bakken play oil and gas exploration within North Dakota’s Williston Basin.
He is a Yale University graduate and recipient of the Blue Leadership Bash’s coveted Bush award for his achievements as a college athlete. Additionally, he is an active volunteer who has helped clean up historical cemeteries. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys camping and fishing – taking two cross country trips in his camper recently – as well as sailing the Mississippi and motocrossing whenever possible.

David Baribault is an advocate for environmental conservation and has spearheaded numerous projects at Disneynature. Additionally, he serves as Vice President of Animation Marketing Operations and Strategy at Disney Studios, a position which he has held since 1997.
Baribault was a former Watkinson High School student and lettered in lacrosse, soccer and basketball. Throughout his varsity career he earned conference all-star recognitions in all three sports.
He earned the rank of captain in all three teams. Following graduation, he attended Hebron Academy in Hebron, Maine.
He retired as a former employee of UPS in 2016. A passionate worker, he loved his job and the company. Additionally, he enjoyed camping, fishing and boating – even taking two cross country trips across America in his camper! A good friend to many and an avid admirer of all animals and nature alike, he made two cross-country trips across America recently.
