David Biderman is the Executive Director and CEO of Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA). Previously, he served as General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Affairs for the National Waste & Recycling Association.
He serves on the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC). In this capacity, he represents the waste management and resource management segments in the environmental technology industry.

He has extensive experience representing clients in state and federal courts throughout California, such as packaged food companies, coffee companies, dairy companies, footwear companies and others whose nutritional or health claims have been challenged. Additionally, he has tried numerous consumer class actions and successfully negotiated favorable settlements for his clients.
Biderman is the Executive Director of SWANA, a professional association representing over 10,000 public and private sector waste industry professionals in North America, Canada and the Caribbean. Prior to this role, he spent 18 years with EIA/NSWMA as General Counsel, Vice President for Government Affairs and Safety Director.
