Early Life and Education
David Kitchens was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee and developed an interest in music from an early age. At Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church he joined the Rosebud Choir – singing for God’s Glory!
Kitchens also played guitar for his dad’s gospel group, the Five Sons of Calvary. After graduating high school, Kitchens pursued music at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
He then joined the Ohio Air National Guard and deployed to Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan, serving his original Military Occupational Specialty before transitioning into Air Transportation. To this day he remains a proud member of the United States Armed Forces.

David Kitchens is a renowned architect who has been part of several notable architectural projects. Currently, he serves as Principal at Cooper Carry Architects in Washington DC.
He received both his bachelor and master’s degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His graduate work focused on Urban Design and pedestrian-friendly urban spaces.
His portfolio includes numerous prestigious commercial, residential and institutional projects. Additionally, he has authored numerous articles and papers and is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) and Washington DC Board of Trade.

Perhaps most notably, his many awards include receiving Henry Adams’ AIA Scholastic Award for Architecture for Excellence in Studying Architecture – awarded to several projects including Underground Atlanta, Mizner Park and C&P Telephone at Fairview Park all located within metro Atlanta area.

David Kitchens dedicated much of his life to his family. He lived a wholesome lifestyle, coaching his kids in various sports and taking them on road trips across America.
David has dedicated himself to building his career, and today serves as the head strength & conditioning coach at UNLV.
In addition to his role with the athletic department, he is the founder and president of Edge Leadership Academy. This program offers workshops for over 30 NCAA programs to foster culture, leadership development and accountability.
David Kitchens is a nationally-renowned lawyer specializing in commercial real estate and shopping center law. He often receives commission from national developers and tenants to draft, negotiate and analyze lease agreements as well as handle various development and landlord/tenant issues related to shopping centers across America.
