Early Life and Education
David Rust’s early life was marked by a variety of occupations, such as cowboy, logger and placer miner. His passion for the Utah wilderness was evident from an early age which eventually led him into becoming an experienced backcountry outfitter and guide.
He was a devout Mormon, and found that the wilderness deepened his understanding of his faith. It also served as an outlet for spiritual strength, allowing him to share his awe of nature with his adventurous turers.
At the University of Pennsylvania, he was actively engaged in service-oriented fraternities that worked with inner city Philadelphia students. After graduation, he decided to use his skills and experiences to launch an organization providing access to free higher education for those in need.

With his unique blend of dark techno and uplifting trance music he continues to gain support from some of the biggest DJ’s within the scene.

David Rust was an eminent graphic designer and one of the pioneering Swiss artists who revolutionized visual communication over the last two decades. Additionally, he co-founded Optimo – an important online type foundry now used by leading designers around the world – which remains one of the industry’s premier tools.
He was born in Bienne, Switzerland and attended ECAL (Ecole polytechnique federale de Lausanne). As one of the founding members of a new generation of Swiss graphic creatives who has revolutionized Swiss visual culture by fusing tradition, precision, efficacy with an embrace of emerging technologies and urban cultures, he made a lasting impact.
Baldwin filed a lawsuit against several members of the Rust crew, including armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, first assistant director David Halls, property master Sarah Zachry and weapons supplier Seth Kenney for negligence. According to the suit, Halls accidentally discharged a prop firearm that Baldwin had been given by Halls – striking Hutchins in the head and resulting in her death.
