Early Life and Education

David Williford, an Asperger’s syndrome sufferer, received an excellent education in the Williford School District. He was assigned an individualized education program (IEP) and worked closely with a special evaluator and behavior consultant to create a plan tailored specifically towards his learning needs.

He also began taking remediation classes at a vocational-technical school in 2000. The School District covered tuition, books and transportation as well as providing an aide.

Thomas Bradley, David’s father, served on the IEP team. He expressed concern that it did not adequately take into account his son’s specific educational needs and suggested modifications.

At a due process hearing held in April 1995, the School District agreed to make necessary modifications in David’s IEP. This included recommendations from Padgett and Lee as well as input from his family members. Furthermore, it provided them with an expert second opinion and requested additional information be provided by them.

Professional Career

David Williford is an Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Welch College and oversees fundraising and external relations activities. This role requires him to foster and sustain strong connections with donors to the college.

He enjoys writing and creating art in his free time. Additionally, he has a deep-seated passion for music with an extensive collection of vinyl records.

He is a member of the MTSU Jazz Artist Series and frequently performs in Nashville. Additionally, he teaches and conducts workshops on jazz composition.

Dave Williford was previously the assistant sports information director and head of SID at Oregon, where he worked for 33 years. During his tenure, three Duck sports achieved national prominence: football, women’s basketball and track and field.

David Williford is an acclaimed author and filmmaker whose works have won him fans around the globe. He has penned several books as well as directed films such as Cosmic Disclosure, Above Majestic, and many others.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as deacon and Sunday School teacher.
