Debbie McGee is a well-recognized TV and radio personality in the UK, best known as being married to deceased magician Paul Daniels and hosting an evening show alongside Giovanni Pernice.
She possesses both military and civilian experience managing critical defense acquisition programs, leading procurement organizations, leading units in peacetime operations and combat operations, and providing strong public policy advice.
Early Life and Education
Debbie Daniels had always had an affinity for teaching others. Even as a child, she took delight in learning new subjects like equal housing laws from her sixth-grade teacher; furthermore, Debbie greatly admired the teacher she admired – his aunt! – for creating rapport with students.
At age 16, she won a place at the Royal Ballet School. However, after having to flee Iran due to the Islamic Revolution, her ballet career came to a halt and she joined Paul Daniels’ magic stage show as his assistant before going on to host her own radio show for BBC Radio Berkshire and host regular Sunday morning radio broadcasts herself. Additionally in 2017 she made it all the way to Strictly Come Dancing final with Giovanni Pernice as partner!
Professional Career
Debbie Daniels served as court clerk, assistant prosecutor, and chief counsel in Missouri Attorney General’s office before being elected associate circuit judge for 13th Judicial Circuit of Callaway and Boone counties in 2006. She was reelected both in 2010 and 2014.
She currently serves as Director of the Office of Justice Programs (OJP) within the Department of Justice, providing leadership to build our nation’s capacity to prevent crime, administer justice and assist crime victims.
She serves as National Coordinator of AMBER Alert Program to recover missing children. In addition, she sits on various court committees focused on improving Missouri’s legal system as a whole and belongs to Women Lawyers Association of Mid Missouri as well as Boone County Bar Association.
Achievement and Honors
Debbie Daniels exemplifies community service. She is involved with Children’s Aid Society of Utah, Phoenix Institute and Benchmark Behavioral Health as well as serving on Coburn Place’s Board of Directors.
In 2017, she participated in the fifteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing as a partner to Giovanni Pernice. They advanced to the final, but ultimately lost to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.
As an associate circuit court judge for eleven years, she served as both a judicial college instructor and continued education participant. Additionally, she signed on as part of the national Right on Crime initiative as well as working within the criminal justice system to provide services for victims of crime and is honored with membership into Indianapolis Bar Association’s Antoinette Dakin Leach Award Honor Roll.

Debbie is a committed yoga student, outdoor enthusiast, and traveler.
