Dotson Rader is an American playwright and author. He has published four novels and three non-fiction works. His stage play God Looked Away is based on the life of Tennessee Williams. He has received awards for his writing, and his work has been translated into more than thirty languages.

Rader has been published in numerous publications, including The New York Times, Sunday Times of London, The New Republic, and the Paris Review. He is the author of four novels and three nonfiction works, as well as three memoirs. He has also served as contributing editor at Parade and Esquina magazines. He is also a close friend of Tennessee Williams.
