Edwardsville Halloween Parade 2021

Edwardsville Halloween Parade 2021

Every year the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon Chamber of Commerce sponsors a Halloween Parade. This community event is held in late October and is expected to attract over 20,000 spectators. It features more than 100 floats and marching bands, as well as performing artists and school groups. The parade starts at 6:30 pm and ends at High Street. Spectators can park in the super lot east of Main Street and on side streets.

Anyone who would like to enter a float in the upcoming parade should visit the Chamber’s website and visit the Chamber office during office hours from Oct. 19-22. Late entries will be placed at the end of the parade and will be disqualified. The float with the most votes will win the Grand Champion award. Several other awards will be given out to the top floats.

This year’s Edwardsville Halloween Parade is celebrating its 100th year. It is one of the oldest and largest Halloween parades in the country. It will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28. The parade begins at the intersection of Washington and Broadway. Those interested in attending the event are encouraged to make reservations now.

Trick-or-treating will continue in the downtown area on Oct. 30. It is recommended that the trick-or-treat event only be attended by members of the same household. The city’s guidelines for healthy trick-or-treating include keeping groups to the same size and carrying hand sanitizer.
