Fatal Car Accident in Utah Yesterday

The accident occurred in Tooele County Saturday night. A dump truck lost control of its truck and collided with a passenger car. The passenger car was carrying four people, including Jessica Keetch, a 36-year-old from Minnesota. The driver was driving eastbound when he lost control of his brakes and crossed into the lane of the oncoming traffic. The dump truck hit the passenger car carrying four people, two children and a 4-year-old. The passengers were taken to a hospital via ambulance and helicopter.

One person, a passenger in the passenger seat of the Hyundai, died from his injuries. Four other people sustained injuries that ranged in severity from minor to severe and were also taken to the hospital. This accident closed several lanes in the westbound lanes of I-80 for several hours. Eventually, the lanes reopened.

West Jordan Police received a report of a rollover crash around 11:30 p.m. Sunday. According to police, a driver had lost control and crashed into the median. One lane was closed in each direction of traffic after the crash, but both lanes were reopened on Sunday evening. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
