Early Life and Education
George Damoose was born in 1938 and raised in Grand Rapids. He attended Harvard University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree before continuing onto Harvard Law School, graduating with his Juris Doctor in 1965. Since then he has been an active member of the American Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association, and San Diego County Bar Association as well as being certified as a Public Accountant with expertise in tax planning.
He is currently serving in the Michigan Senate for the 37th district, in addition to his duties in the state legislature. Additionally, he runs a television production company. A passionate Democrat, he supports free enterprise, entrepreneurship and individuals’ rights to choose their own path in life; additionally he believes in free speech and citizens having freedoms without interference from government agencies. With so much experience under his belt, he hopes to make an impact on Michigan with his positive initiatives.
Professional Career
George damoose has extensive experience in a number of fields. He has held board positions at several companies and been an active member in his community. Currently, he works as a partner at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP in San Diego, California where his practice focuses on tax planning for individuals and businesses alike; estate planning; as well as business structure.
He is also a member of the California Bar Association and American Bar Association, as well as serving on the board of directors for the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce. For his community service accomplishments, he has received numerous awards. A graduate of Harvard University, he was named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006 in distribution/manufacturing/security category.

George Damoose was an acclaimed tax attorney. He specialized in corporate and business taxation, serving for over four decades at Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch LLP. Additionally, he held memberships on the California State Bar taxation section and San Diego County Bar Association Board of Directors. George also received several prestigious awards including 2006 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for his work with Cubic Corp – an award consisting of $200,000 to be spent over two years on business development, marketing and other initiatives.
Personal Life
George Lynn Damoose is a resident of San Diego, California and an acclaimed retired lawyer and tax attorney. He’s also a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and actively involved in his community. Currently living in University City neighborhood of San Diego, Mr. Damoose enjoys taking care of his pets as well as spending time with family.
George Damoose has been married to Marcia Harrison for over 20 years, and they are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren. As a loving family, they possess an infectious sense of humor and appreciate animals greatly. George enjoys traveling, swimming and spending time with his friends and family – especially those from Hanover, New Hampshire or La Jolla, California. George has been actively involved in his local community while supporting local schools with great enthusiasm.
