Georgia on My Mind – Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles

Whether you are from Georgia or you are just visiting the state, it is easy to fall in love with the music of Georgia. Its rich cultural heritage has made it one of the most musically rich states in the country. The state is home to many great artists, from Peach Pickers to Jon Langston. This year, the 6th annual Georgia On My Mind, an annual guitar festival, will feature some of the best in the genre.

Peach Pickers

Presented at the Hoyt Sherman Place Theater in Des Moines, Iowa, the Georgia On My Mind: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles concert is an ensemble performance of a variety of artists. Aside from the obvious superstars, the lineup will also include several surprise guests.

The Peach Pickers are a super songwriting trio consisting of Rhett Akins, Ben Hayslip and Dallas Davidson. The trio has penned more than 70 songs that have gone to #1, making them one of the most prolific songwriting duos in the business.

The Georgia Music Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides funding for music education and cultural programs in Georgia. In the past four years, the foundation has distributed more than $600,000 to worthy music programs and programs. The Georgia on my mind concert is a fundraiser for the organization. The concert is expected to sell out quickly.

Gretsch Presents the 6th Annual Georgia On My Mind

Usually held at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, the Gretsch Presents the 6th Annual Georgia On My Mind benefit is set for July 17. It will raise money for the Georgia Music Foundation, which provides music education grants to Georgia schools. It will feature performances by some of the state’s best. You can buy tickets for the event online for $10. It will also be streamed in a one-hour format on December 7, 2021.

While the event was billed as a one-hour concert, the show was nearly three hours long. During the show, attendees enjoyed performances by Ray Fulcher, Colt Ford, Travis Denning, Jontavious Willis, Kal & Aslyn, Colt Ford, Kal & Aslyn, Kevn Kinney, David Lee Murphy, Amythyst Kiah, Jontavious Willis, Kevn Kinney, and Kevn Kinney.

Jon Langston

EMI Records Nashville artist Jon Langston is a native of Loganville, Georgia. He is a fan of country music and is always making time to play for his fans at the University of Georgia. He was also a star football player at Grayson High School. After playing football for Gardner-Webb University, he decided to pursue a career in music. His debut EP Runnin’ On Sunshine was released in 2013.

In September 2016, Langston signed with Luke Bryan’s UMG subsidiary 32 Bridge Entertainment. He was the first artist to sign with Bryan’s new label. He is currently on tour and has two Farm Tour shows this weekend in South Carolina and Georgia. He will also be touring with Bryan throughout the year.

Jordan Rager

Having been raised in Loganville, Georgia, Rager is big time baseball fan. A little over seven square miles in size, the town is home to the Atlanta Braves. During his teenage years, the country singer travelled around the state performing at any and every venue in sight. Then in 2015, he made the move from small town Georgia to Nashville. Now, he’s a rising country music star.

His first single, “Southern Boy,” was released through Broken Bow Records and received 53 first-week adds from radio stations around the country. The song also had a number of high-profile guest stars, including Jason Aldean, Cole Taylor, Randy Houser, and Lee Brice.

Big Boi

Among the many things that Big Boi has on his mind is the state of Georgia. He has made the state his home for more than 10 years. He has been married twice and has a daughter and a son, both of whom are currently attending college in Oregon.

Big Boi has a cream-colored house outside of Atlanta. His recording studio has a swing hanging from the ceiling and plush velvet curtains. He also has a pet owl who advocates for the less stigmatized aspects of mental health.

Big Boi has also been busy with a new record label venture through Virgin Records. He has released two new tracks before the Super Bowl.

Otis Redding tribute

Presented by fifth generation musical instrument manufacturer Gretsch, the Georgia on My Mind concert at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville was a sold out event. The show raised a total of $100,000 for the Georgia Music Foundation. Otis Redding’s children attended the event to honor their father.

Otis Redding, who was born in Dawson, Georgia, was a soul singer who was considered one of the greatest in the genre. The Reddings are currently planning big projects in honor of their father.

The Otis Redding Foundation will host a weekend of events in Macon, GA, September 9-10. This event will bring world-renowned musicians to Georgia to honor the legacy of Otis Redding. This weekend will also raise funds for the Otis Redding Center for the Arts. The Center will include practice rooms, collaborative spaces, and learning labs.
