Jack Legette-Jack, son of Buffalo women’s basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack, displays all the characteristics expected of an expert coach’s son – from an intuitive feel for the game and high basketball I.Q to immense skill on the court.
Participants were instructed to compare the positions of Jill and Jack on a visuospatial working memory task (Jack and Jill; JaJ). Figure 4 displays how correlations with different spatial ability subtests and achievement measures changed with trial length.
Early Life and Education
Jack was an avid collector of Black History memorabilia throughout his life and established various Black History Exhibits at various military bases worldwide.
He enjoys reading and watching sports during his leisure time, and is an active member of the Wisconsin Quarter Horse Association and the National Snaffle Bit Association.
He is the proud parent of three children and two grandchildren. In addition, he has published multiple articles and essays related to education, family life and history.
He serves as global education editor of the Financial Times, covering issues around education globally and editorial lead for their free FT schools program. Prior to that he served as head of curated content as well as foreign correspondent in France and Russia – in addition to having experience covering corporate finance journalism.
Achievement and Honors
Jack was not only renowned as a musician but was an active community member as well. He established several scholarships at IUP for students as well as donated large portions of his estate to college access programs in Vermont and New York.
His album New Directions won both the French “Grand Prix du Disque” award and Down Beat’s annual critics poll for Album of the Year, while Special Edition spread the sounds of David Murray, Rufus Reid, Howard Johnson and Chico Freeman to a wider audience. Meanwhile his recordings for ECM Parallel Realities and Audio-Visualscapes earned critical acclaim from critics worldwide.
Since 1985, The Ezra Jack Keats Foundation and USM’s de Grummond Children’s Literature Collection have awarded more than one hundred EJK Awards to outstanding early career authors and illustrators who portray our multi-cultural world with vividness as they portray childhood universally.
Personal Life
Jack is an attentive father and husband, spending quality time with his family on their ranch and taking camping trips together. In addition, he regularly assists Lucas with his homework.
He’s also an ardent admirer of old movies and is knowledgeable of Western history. He has appeared on multiple episodic television series such as Bonanza, Route 66 and 12 O’Clock High as a guest star, often playing troubled or criminal characters.
In one episode, he saves a poodle from being shot and in doing so splits his pants in the process. Rebecca later explained to him that his constant willingness to go the extra mile for his children has earned them love and respect as it strengthens them as a family unit.

He portrayed Tyler Locke in the 2017 film Locke & Key and as Grizz in Netflix series The Society. Other credits of his acting include Biloxi Blues, One Crazy Summer and Rescue Me.
Mulhern has also ventured into music. He signed with Don Cannon and DJ Drama’s Generation Now label to release ‘Tyler Herro,’ which peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2020. Additionally, Mulhern founded Private Garden musical collective and signed to Atlantic Records record label.
