If there’s one thing London-based designer Doug John Miller is good at, it’s blending the surreal with architectural detail. Having studied architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture, he’s been commissioned by the likes of WIRED and The Atlantic for his intricate renderings of miniature worlds.
He is also a founding partner at Requisite Capital Management, a wealth management firm that helps clients plan for their future.
Early Life and Education
As a young man, Douglas developed a passion for art. He was encouraged by his parents to pursue a career in the arts, and they provided him with an education that emphasized academic excellence.
While Douglas was in college, he landed a scholarship to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he studied art and painting. He earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in 1922.

He has also been an active member of the horse community, breeding and developing horses that earned multiple World Championship titles. He competed in Western Pleasure and National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) events.
Achievements and Honors
As a profiler, Douglas worked on some of the most notorious serial and sadistic killers in American history. These cases included the San Francisco Trailside Killer, the Atlanta Child Murderer, and Robert Hansen (who hunted and killed prostitutes on his property in Alaska).
As an FBI officer, he was a leading expert in criminal profiling. He was credited with conducting the first organized study in the United States on the methods and motivations of violent serial killers.
He has been honored for his achievements and service to the community, earning several awards. He is a recipient of the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence and was named an Alumnus of the Year by Eastern University in St. Davids, TN. He also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from his alma mater, Cornell College in Geneva, NY.

His passion for sports was a huge part of his personality, which led to him having a successful career in the entertainment industry. He performed in national ads, TV shows and films.
