GitHub Release Manager John Wiebalk Passes Away

John Wiebalk was an extraordinary human being who left a lasting legacy. He was an inspiring leader and tireless seeker of ways to assist others.

He was an avid Disney fan, having his pets named after some of their favorite characters: Bolt, Figaro, Maui, Moana, Ralph, Vanellope, Anna Olaf Chip Mrs Potts and Maleficent.

Professional Career

John, GitHub’s most recent release manager, was an inspiringly hard-working employee with a warm personality and infectious smile. His colleagues appreciated working with him because he always had time for others and set an excellent example for working efficiently as part of a team. He always gave credit where credit was due, making sure everyone felt appreciated and brought out the best in others. Additionally, he was vegetarian and passionate about animals. In his free time, John enjoyed spending time with his beloved wife Nina, their cats Bolt, Figaro, Maui, Moana, Ralph, Vanellope, Anna, Olaf, Chip, Mrs. Potts and Maleficent as well as his beloved dog Nala. All who knew him will miss him dearly; you can express condolences at; the family extends a special thanks to all his friends for their comfort and support during this trying time.

Personal Life

John was an inspiringly kind man who left a lasting impression on those he encountered. A passionate family man, John had an affinity for animals and sought ways to help those less fortunate. As vegetarian, his compassion extended far beyond helping those around him; making him both an invaluable mentor and friend to many. John’s colleagues loved his sense of humor as well as his willingness to go the extra mile for others. Most importantly though, John loved spending time with Nina and their pets – Bolt, Figaro, Maui, Moana Ralph Vanellope plus Nala the dog! He and Nina were avid Disney fans; having cats named Bolt, Figaro Maui Moana Ralph Vanellope plus Vanellope the pup Nala!

John was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend who sacrificed to ensure his wife Nina and their animals had the best life possible. He will be sorely missed.
