Steve Goodier is an ordained Methodist minister and author of numerous books on personal development, motivation and inspiration. Since 1999, he has published a widely read newsletter called Life Support System Publishing that has an email list readership in excess of 150,000 subscribers. Together with his wife in Colorado they run Life Support System Publishing together.
He advocates humor as one of the primary tools for dealing with difficult times, using it regularly in sermons to preach about its benefits.
Early Life and Education
Goodier has led Five Keys’ growth over his time as director. Today it employs over 400 staff and offers instruction at 17 county jails and 80 community locations, receiving numerous awards and recognitions due to his leadership.
His passion for the outdoors has also enabled him to build a successful freelance outdoor writing career, regularly contributing to several nationwide outdoor magazines and publications. Furthermore, he’s an experienced fellwalker and adventurer, particularly skilled in Scotland and Yorkshire.
He and his family live in Charlevoix, Michigan. When not writing or playing golf he enjoys fishing and skiing as hobbies as well as reading and writing – co-publishing an extensively-read newsletter with his wife as well as several books focused on personal development, motivation, inspiration and making needed life changes.
He hosted several popular television series from 1994-2009, such as the Steve Wright People Show and Top of the Pops 2 with Mark Radcliffe, respectively. Additionally, he narrated retro pop music specials for BBC TV.
He currently oversees Foundry Technical, Quality and Engineering activities of TRITEH GROUP’s four investment casting foundries located in Wrexham (North Wales), Barnstaple (England), Yeovil (England) and Dharwad (India). In addition, he serves on the Cast Metals Federation’s Council.
He teaches and speaks on personal development, motivation and change for personal, career and life goals. He has published several books and provides daily inspiration ezines on his web site Your Life Support System. In addition, he is an outdoor writer, contributing walking routes for multiple national outdoor magazines every month.
Goodier has long been active as an outdoor writer for various UK outdoor magazines. An accomplished fell walker and climber, Goodier has traveled all over the globe walking and climbing. Additionally, Goodier also produces walking routes for various national outdoor publications.
He also takes great interest in spirituality, having given talks at several churches and outdoor events. Together with his wife who works as a professional counselor and small group leader in Colorado.
Goodier believes humor helps people cope with life’s difficulties and believes laughter serves as an inner jogging exercise that keeps us balanced. Alongside his wife, Goodier runs an informal humor newsletter called Your Life Support System that features humorous articles every week.
Goodier is an entrepreneur with a net worth estimated at over $120 million and makes his living through radio and voiceover work. He often stands in for absent presenters on BBC Radio 2, often covering when regular presenters go away on holiday; from 27 February 2016 until 2 July 2016, he presented Pick of the Pops following Tony Blackburn’s departure, temporarily. Goodier also presents Now! on Greatest Hits Radio England from 10am-1pm Monday-Friday as well as Real Radio’s UK Top 40 chart show.
Wisebuddah Production Company was formed after he retired from daily radio to focus on it. Since its establishment, it has achieved considerable success in commercial real estate investment and development and partners with family offices as well as high net worth individuals.
