Steve Tavidian dedicated much of his life to serving Providence community. As an American Youth Football Olympic pentathlete and chapter president/governing body member for Providence Youth Football (AYF), as well as volunteering for numerous church bazaars/hoop tournaments/track and softball games; all were important parts of Steve Tavidian’s life in Providence.

Mesrob and Akabi Tavidian raised three daughters before his passing in South Milwaukee, WI in 1972 and moved 17 years ago with his wife Cindy to Lake Havasu City, AZ from Oak Creek, WI with Cindy as his partner. Today they remain close, both having three daughters each and six grandchildren between them as well as remaining relatives and friends who remain. Mesrob is survived by three of his four daughters as well as many relatives and friends; unfortunately both his parents predeceased him.
Achievement and Honors
Steven Tavidian joined the Army after graduating high school and was assigned to 1st Battalion 327th Infantry Regiment’s 1st Brigade Combat Team 1st Airborne Division Air Assault of Fort Campbell Kentucky. He died April 21 in Bayji, Iraq when his vehicle hit an IED. For his service he received both the National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal as well as being honored with Army Service Ribbon and Weapons Qualification Badge M4 Expert awards. His legacy lives on with his wife Cindy; daughters Keri White and Amy Clouthier; daughter in-law Keri Wachowski; son Spencer Tavidian; grandsons Cameron, Julia, Asher, Elliot and Jack as well as his parents Mesrob and Akabi Tavidian; sister Joanne Wachowski; brother-in-law Alan Tavidian as well as many other family members and friends.
Personal Life
Aso was dedicated to philanthropy, giving generously to various cultural and educational institutions. He served on the Frick Collection Board of Trustees as both vice chair and chairman of its Committee for Art Acquisitions; additionally, he sponsored numerous special exhibitions and avidly collected Renaissance portraiture.
Steve treasured spending time with his daughters and grandchildren when they visited from Wisconsin, particularly when visiting from out-of-state schools. Additionally, he was an avid sports fan and officiated basketball games throughout southeastern Wisconsin for over thirty years.
