Early Life and Education

Steven Goldwyn is an experienced criminal defense attorney. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Union College and Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law; additionally, he is a member of both State and Federal Bars in Massachusetts.

He is also an avid golfer who relishes fine dining, wine tasting and beach time. An avid Boston Sports fan, he makes sure to attend at least some Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots games each year.

Born into an influential entertainment family, Samuel Goldwyn Jr was among those instrumental in shaping Hollywood. His father Samuel Goldwyn Sr, better known as one of Hollywood’s founding fathers and MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer), passed away peacefully at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Friday at age 88.

Professional Career

Goldwyn can currently be seen performing in Ivo Van Hove’s “Network”, alongside Bryan Cranston and Tatiana Maslany on Broadway, and can also be found as President Fitzgerald Grant on Shonda Rhimes’ popular series, “Scandal.” Recently he completed filming of both Creed 2 and an HBO drama.

Goldwyn combined his production company and Metro Pictures into Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio. Goldwyn was the first producer to cast black actors as lead roles when casting Sidney Poitier, Dorothy Dandridge and Sammy Davis Jr. for his movie adaptation of George Gershwin’s opera Porgy and Bess.

Steve is responsible for matching client financing requests with appropriate sources of capital. He has an expansive network of single-tenant net leased lenders, single tenant net lease lenders, community and regional banks, government agency lenders, conduit lenders and life insurance companies that he works closely with.

Achievement and Honors

John Ford was one of his favorite filmmakers, earning him Academy Award nominations for two of their films Arrowsmith (1931) and Dead End (1937). Additionally, he collaborated closely with William Wyler to produce several movies including 1946’s Best Years of Our Lives that won an Academy Award for Best Picture.

He wrote and directed Hanna Senesh, which garnered him a Drama Desk nomination and has toured internationally, while also helming episodes for such television programs as Designing Women, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Dexter.

Grad student Rocco Pucillo took first prize at the 58th annual Samuel Goldwyn Writing Awards with his script, ‘Inspector Sun and the Curse of the Black Widow.’ Other award winners were from UC Riverside: Sean Harrigan (“Dust Red”) and Turner Hay (“Broken Grey”). This honor was established by actor Samuel Goldwyn and his son Sam Goldwyn.

Personal Life

Steven Goldwyn is an accomplished actor who made his mark on television as one of the stars of Scandal. Additionally, he has directed episodes for Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Grey’s Anatomy and Dexter.

He has made multiple Off-Broadway performances, such as Theresa Rebeck’s Spike Heels and The Water’s Edge, at venues including Berkshire Theatre Festival, Zephyr Theatre and Philadelphia Theater Company.

Goldwyn enjoys traveling to Napa Valley and Mexico during his free time, is an avid Boston sports fan (Red Sox, Celtics or Patriots game annually) and married production designer Jane Michelle Musky with two daughters; as well as serving on AmeriCares’ Board.

Net Worth

He collects upfront pay, profits, residuals and endorsement deals. He’s invested in real estate as well as having ownership stake in the LA Angels baseball club. With his large bankroll he was able to land leading roles in films like Friday the 13th VI: Jason Lives and Gaby: A True Story.

Sam Goldwyn Jr. put his oil fortune to good use by investing it in Denver real estate before branching into movies with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. Additionally, he earned his flying wings as a certified jet pilot while serving as chairman of International Finance Lease Corp. – one of America’s premier aircraft leasing companies.

DreamWorks SKG was co-founded by Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg; domestic box office receipts saw a decline during 2015; he also owns an Arizona ranch and is known for collecting art; plus has an ownership stake in the Boston Red Sox baseball club.
