Krispy Kreme announced it has reached an agreement to pay Cooper and Panagos hourly rates and bonus for helping restructure Krispy Kreme. Both work at Kroll Zolfo Cooper restructuring firm.

Early Life and Education

Panagos hails from Brooklyn, New York and attended the University of Maryland where he earned a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice before attending graduate school at Michigan where he received his Master of Public Policy degree.

As UCF defensive coordinator in 2009-10, he led his team to conference USA Defensive Player of the Year honors from Haason Reddick. Furthermore, their defense ranked 4th nationally for both sacks and tackles for losses (TFLs).

He and Maureen have been married for 27 years and share two children: Jack and Hayden. Steven currently resides with them in Fairfield, Connecticut but according to public records has previously lived in Albertson, New York; Bethpage and Flushing in New York as well as New Port Richey Florida.

Professional Career

Steven Panagos currently sits on the boards of directors for various public and private companies, such as Revlon Inc. and Vital Pharmaceuticals. Additionally, he serves as senior managing director and national practice leader of Moelis & Co, where he has spearheaded multiple restructuring and reorganization processes for clients and creditors alike.

Panagos brings years of experience to distressed transactions, bankruptcy, corporate restructuring and financial advisory work. He was honored to receive recognition as a leading restructuring attorney by The M&A Advisor twice consecutively.

Since 2017, he has also served as Temple University’s defensive line coach. In his inaugural season, he led defensive players DT Darius Hamilton and DE Kemoko Turay to conference USA All-Conference honors while helping their front four restrict rushing yards to an all-time league low mark.

Achievement and Honors

Panagos’ professional career aside, Panagos is actively involved in community initiatives centered around amateur sport and children’s literacy. He has assisted teams and organizations with fundraising activities and provided pizza as donations. Furthermore, he has represented an ad hoc group of first lien lenders in several complex restructuring proceedings, including Revlon Inc’s BrandCo Debtors (thirteen entities holding IP for brands like Elizabeth Arden, American Crew Almay Curve etc) as well as CHC Group LLC which provides global rotary wing aviation services provider services.

At Erosion Research Group we specialize in researching topics like Hydrology and Universal Soil Loss Equation. In Land Use we cover areas such as Soil Conservation, Arable Land and Water Resource Management; in Erosion study Storm, Physical Geography and Scale are also studied extensively.

Personal Life

Steven Panagos’ community involvement extends well beyond his professional endeavors and includes amateur sport, literacy for children and volunteering activities. He serves on the Board of Directors at Old COPPER Co. Inc and sponsors an initiative giving out pizza vouchers as rewards to children for good sportsmanship and literacy practices as well as helping various amateur sport teams and not-for-profit organizations raise funds.

He currently resides in Albertson, New York with several of his relatives including Miltiades D Panagos, Athanasia N Panagos and Peter D Panagos. When not attending to family duties or playing basketball with friends he enjoys spending time playing basketball or watching Carolina Panthers games with family. Panagos is also an avid supporter of baseball, football and boxing – sports which he avidly follows during his free time.
