Thomas Almona, better known by his stage name Cheech, died January 1, 2019 at 72. He was the devoted father to Gina Almona and Leandra Rodriguez; and loving partner to Olga Vlachos and Mona. Additionally he was brother to Thomas Almona.

He resided at several addresses throughout New York, such as 98 S Franklin Ave Apt 3G in Valley Stream and 2313 3rd St in East Meadow.

Thomas Almona was born March 10, 1946 in Astoria, New York and passed away January 1st 2019. He leaves behind his daughter Gina Almona and granddaughter Leandra Rodriguez as well as his longtime devoted companion Olga Vlachos; as well as several nieces and nephews. Thomas served in the US Army from 1966-1972.

He was involved in several organizations that brought together the campus community, such as serving on the Board of Trustees, Academic Senate, Student Affairs Committee and Alumni Association as President. When not working he enjoyed spending his free time with family and friends. A fan of sports was his passion.
