Tom Dorso was an industry executive and close personal friend, known for building strong relationships among those he worked with.

At his passing, Anne Marie will be left behind to mourn alongside Joe Rizzo and Theresa Piscal – his step-children as well as grandchildren Hayden Howell, Dean Niedzwiecki, Emma Lucchi and Anna Baranyay as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Early Life and Education

Tom Dorso was raised by Rosemary and Ellen Dorso – his two younger sisters. As a teen he teased them and tormented them; yet eventually they came to love him as adults. Tom attended Wayne Hills High School before going on to Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck where he earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting before embarking on his quest to conquer the world!

He was an ardent New York Yankees and NASCAR supporter who loved traveling. He leaves behind sons, daughters, nieces, nephews, in-laws and close friends as his legacy.

Hayden and Daniel Howell, Dean Piscal and Jake Piscal and Emma Lucchi remain his legacy, along with Anne Marie Dorso who continues to honor him by cherishing many wonderful memories shared together.

Professional Career

Dorso was widely respected in Lacey as “a great guy,” a “trusted friend” and an employee with strong rapport with students, according to Lacey Assistant Superintendent Vanessa Clark’s letter addressed to the district. Clark mentioned his infectious personality would be sorely missed, while she presented retirees with books of their choice for themselves and Dorso is survived by wife Anne Marie; daughters Anna M Baranyay (Matt) and Theresa Piscal; Joe Rizzo and Nick Dorso as well as grands Hayden Howell, Dean Niedzwiecki and Emma Lucchi; stepson Brianna Carlamere as well as stepson/daughters Danielle/ Glenn Lucchi.

Jenny serves as Vice President of Marketing Strategy for The Pekoe Group, overseeing their brand and campaign planning efforts. Her experience includes digital media campaign planning for Broadway productions, Off-Broadway shows, touring productions, Brooklyn Botanic Garden events, Fireman Hospitality Group events and other businesses.

Lipscomb University recognizes students who earned academic honors during the spring semester. Both the Provost’s List and Honor Roll recognize academic achievements based on grade point average and earning at least 12 semester hours; Provost’s List members possess an overall 4.0 GPA while Honor Roll members typically boast a 3.5 average.

Thomas “Timba” Dorso was an esteemed school social worker for Lacey School District who held strong bonds with both his students and colleagues alike, positively impacting each one’s lives in meaningful ways. An outstanding leader and teammate alike, Thomas is survived by Anne Marie Dorso as well as their two children Hayden Howell and Dean Niedzwiecki.

Personal Life

Tom had an infectious sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. A huge New York Yankees and NASCAR fan, he loved visiting beaches, traveling abroad and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Anne Dorso, sons Joseph and Ryan, daughters Nicole and Jessica as well as stepson Michael with daughter Caitlin; his sisters Patricia Spisto of Milford and Dorothy Culver of Florida as well as brother Peter who lives in Arizona along with numerous nieces and nephews.
