Thomas Harmeyer

Harmeyer graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and worked in insurance for over two decades, overseeing Tokio Marine HCC’s Professional Lines and Public Risk Groups.

He was killed in a motorcycle accident caused by another driver’s misjudgment and disregard for the law. As noted in the police report, Mr. Martinez was tested for alcohol and drugs while Tommy Harmeyer was not.

Early Life and Education

Ochsner Foundation recognized his successes, hiring him to manage its capital campaign to construct a biomedical research center. Furthermore, Boys Town asked him to fundraise on their behalf. By 1993 all three buildings – NOMA, Ochsner and Boys Town had opened.

His legacy will live on through his wife, Terri; sons Tom and Robyn; and daughter Mary. Professional Career

JD Harmeyer is well-known for his work on the Howard Stern Show and was also featured in an independent short film entitled Supertwink. Additionally, he often appears at AVN Awards show events. JD is married to Jennifer Tanko – an American cosmetics artist – whom he recently wed during an intimate ceremony held in Las Vegas.

Dowling Catholic High School Running Team in Des Moines recognized him with two letters during his senior year; as part of this team he received both all-conference and all-american honors. Additionally he competed on Ball State Men’s Cross Country teams between 1987-1992.

His fundraising successes caught the attention of New Orleans’ Ochsner Medical Foundation, which hired him to run its capital campaign and raise money to construct both a biomedical research center and Boys Town group home within city limits.

He was the loving spouse of Claire Harmeyer and is remembered by Ken, Amy, Daniel and Thomas Harmeyer as well as Michelle Moore, Amy (Dick) Hoffman, Jill Snyder and Zachary Harmeyer; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Personal Life

He and Jennifer Tanko reside together in New York City and had been dating for some time prior to getting engaged and marrying on December 18, 2018.

He enjoyed sports and was an enthusiastic cross-country runner at Ball State University between 1987 and 1992, competing in NCAA cross country championships where he achieved All-American status.

Harmeyer currently serves as president of Ochsner Medical Foundation and has raised more than $100 million during his career. Prior to this role, he served as Executive Director at both NOMA and Ochsner hospitals.
