Thomas McCracken is an award-winning biomedical illustrator and professor of anatomy and physiology, holding both degrees from the University of Michigan – one in biological sciences, the other one specializing in biomedical illustration.
He is the author of several textbooks on anatomy and physiology, an international speaker on 3D medical imaging, and a beloved instructor for University anatomy and physiology courses.
Ohio University Board of Trustees approved that Gladys W. and David H. Patton Hall will be renamed in honor of this family at its October meeting, where it had previously been known as McCracken Hall. The name change will take effect upon renovation of current facility.

He is married to Sarah, with one son living with them in Geneva, Illinois. He identifies with both the Chicago Bears and New York Giants football teams.
