Tom Meek resides in Cambridge and has published reviews, essays and short stories in The Boston Phoenix, The Boston Globe, The Rumpus Cambridge Day literary journal as well as SLAB literary journal. Additionally he offers writing and journalism classes in Cambridge.
Meek was born and raised in England as something of a child prodigy, spending much of his time tinkering with radios and electric circuits in his shed. Later he would go on to establish himself as an artist specializing in performance art. Living between madness and masterpieces.
Meek has conducted medical mission work both abroad and domestically. Trained in Osteopathic Manual Therapy (OMT), or joint and muscle manipulation therapy to treat pain without medication.

Between 2000 and 2007, Meek wrote over 350 weekly “Another Day In Cyberville” columns about computers, smartphones, networks, hi-tech and New Media for The Gainesville Sun and The Gainesville Voice as part of the New York Times Regional Newspaper Group. Meek was responsible for producing numerous information, telethon and public service programs at Orlando-based WOFL-TV during his time there – such as a documentary on Louis Comfort Tiffany which won him a gold medal from the New York International Film & Television Festival.
He served on board USS Belknap (CG-26) in Gaeta, Italy from 1990-1992 before becoming an Assistant Staff Intelligence Officer at the Naval War College in Newport Rhode Island from 1994-1995. Additionally he established Bonn Germany’s Coalition Intelligence Fusion Center during this time.
Achievement and Honors
Meek was honored to receive the Kansas Wildlife Federation Water Conservationist of the Year award in 2012. He implemented numerous on-farm water quality improvement practices including no-till crop production, filter strips and conservation buffers as well as conducting several riparian forest improvement projects.
Meek held an intelligence officer position aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) from 2000 to 2001, during which time he completed Joint Professional Military Education and German language attache training. Additionally, from 2002-2003 he served as deputy N2 for Commander, Fleet Forces Command.
He currently owns and operates After5 Studios in Philadelphia’s Kensington neighborhood, providing recording space to single vocalists, duets, rappers, rapper-singers and acoustic singer-songwriters. In addition he co-owns an independent record label/management company nicethingsMUSIC which manages projects by Post Malone, Bryson Tiller and Future among many other artists.
